Sicily, The Motherland - Wine, Cooking, Culture & Adventure was exactly the EPIC adventure i was hoping to share with my sister. We had both been to Italy several times and always love our time there, but we wanted to see another part of the country and experience the differences and uniqueness of the beautiful island of Sicily. We were not disappointed.
Massimo was the consummate travel guide and true companion on this adventure!! His local knowlege and "skill set" (we would have had to walk a lengthy, uphill distance, with our luggage, in a torential downpour, if he hadn't jumped in, literally, and saved the day for us) could be seen, heard, and felt the entire time we had the pleasure of his company. I would love to travel with Massimo as a guide, friend, and 'family' again.
All three (3) accomodations we experienced were excellent and unique in their own way. I appreciated the fact that we only moved every 3-4 days. Having time to settle in and get to know our hosts and their lovely homes (yes, 2 of the 3 places we stayed were historic family properties!!) was extremely special and afforded us lasting memories of Sicily and the wonderful people we met there.
This was the first time I have ever joined an 'organized tour' when i traveled and I have no regrets. CDV delivered on all that they promised and I plan to travel with them again. Thank you, Massimo and Daniele....it was a pleasure!!
